Fabric Suggestions

Light-to medium-weight woven fabrics such as cotton lawn, poplin, chambray, flannel, linen blends, Tencel (lyocell), viscose (rayon). For the puffball sleeve, choose a fabric with body that will hold its shape. The straight sleeve dress could also be made in needlecord or lighter-weight denim.

I was a bit daunted by something with buttons, but the instructions were clear throughout and any use of the seam ripper that was necessary was my own fault for not paying enough attention to the images! I sized down by 1 size because I did not want the blouse to be too oversized and it's perfect.

Great pattern that can be customised in so many ways!

Lovely Summer dress

Well fitting, clear instructions. Only thing which could be improved is to offer the option to have a full length facing to reduce the bulk at the waist and to have a cleaner finish.

The Nell pattern is designed with a seam between the bodice and skirt to create those beautiful gathers, so a full-length facing wouldn’t work for this style. The Perfect Summer Dress!

This is the second Nell I've made and I love it so much! It's the perfect dress to wear to work in the summer and I love how adaptable the pattern is.
This sew took me a few hours over the course of a weekend. The instructions are really easy to follow. I find the basic pattern a little too baggy for my liking, so this time I added some extra darts in the back bodice and I'm so happy with the fit!
I know I'll keep returning back to this pattern as an absolute staple.
