GET INSPIRED #SewingCoco
I love this pattern! Instructions were easy to follow. I made up in a navy and white striped cotton spandex jersey.
This was my first ever project! The instructions are really clear & easy to follow but I also found the online blogs really helpful for anything I was less sure of. Needless to say this pattern is going to be featured A LOT in my wardrobe! I can't wait to get going on the next one already :-)
Hi Sarah, thanks for your lovely review! Well done on completing your first ever project - amazing job! I hope you enjoy wearing your me made top and I’m looking forward to seeing what else you create. :) Happy sewing! Virginija x
I've made both the dress and the top twice. Both in a cotton sweatshirt fleece, so comfortable but looks nicer that just a regular sweatshirt. The funnel neck is cozy but not constricting. A super easy make.
Hi Diane, thank you so much for your lovely review! It's wonderful to hear that you've made Coco in different fabrics - hope you enjoy making many more! Happy sewing! Virginija x
Coco has been sitting in my pattern stash since I bought the sewing machine earlier in the year. Finally got around to making the top version in a green tweed effect lightweight ponte. I wasn't keen on the tunic with splits length, a bit neither here nor there on me at 5ft 2, so I shortened the top by 4 inches so it is just above the line where the markings are for the top of the split sides. Funnel neck was a lovely fit. Will wear for work with a pencil skirt.
Only thing I would change is to use a 3/8"/10mm seam allowance, as I have used with some other knit patterns, which will give me a little more ease at the top of the shoulder/armscye area.
I have a funky retro scuba in stash which I plan to make the dress version with presently.
Hi Sue, thanks so much for your review! I'm so glad to hear you’ve finally picked up the pattern and made a beautiful garment you’re proud to wear - yay! I’m looking forward to seeing your dress version soon! :) Happy stitching! Virginija x
I have made 5 versions of this dress now. It's incredibly easy and looks good with minimal fitting. Its easy to alter too, I've made it with a slightly scooped neckline, altered the length and the sleeve length, made a costume for a 70's party, a beach cover up, and a little black dress that was flat fabric at 4pm and a dress on my back in a restaurant at 7:30pm the same evening (I'd fit in shower, hair and make up in that time too!).
