Learn to sew a lined jacket with Tilly

Best fabrics for Manon
The magic of this pattern is that it can become either a lightweight trench jacket or a cropped pea coat, depending on your fabric choice. So you can wear a me-made jacket throughout the seasons!
For a classic cropped trench
Use a medium weight woven cotton twill or gabardine, with no stretch.
For a cosy jacket
Choose a wool coating or vegan alternative – make sure it’s not too thick, or the neckline could be tricky to sew.
For the jacket lining
Pick a lightweight lining fabric such as cupro (Bemberg), viscose (rayon), acetate or polyester lining, or cotton lawn. You could use cotton lawn for the bodice lining, and slippery lining fabric for the sleeve linings to make it easy to slip the jacket on and off.
What skill level is Manon suitable for?
The Manon pattern is designed for improvers – sewists who have made garments before and are ready to build on their sewing skills.
