Behind the Scenes... Book 2 Progress
Hoooraaaaayyy! I've finished writing my second book!
It's been a ton of work, but everything has gone really well and I couldn't be more pleased with how it's turning out. All that's left to do now is proofing and planning the release. I'm soooo excited to share it with you when it's published next Spring!
In the meantime, I thought I'd give you some peeks behind the scenes at the recent garment photo shoots - the final three days of photography after the seven instructions shoots. For the garment shoots, we used the same photographer as my first book, Ellie Smith, and were back in the same studio in Bethnal Green that we used three years ago. It felt a bit like a déjà vu - but in a good way!
The first couple of hours on fashion shoots feel like a slow start. There's clothes fittings, hair and make up, backdrops to be assembled and lots of hanging around before the first shots are snapped.
At nearly eight months pregnant, I wasn't in a great position to model the outfits this time, hehe :) There will be a couple of pics of me in the book, and most of the garments will be worn by four other lovely models. I say "models", but at Tilly and the Buttons we like to use non-professionals who our customers can relate to - usually my friends, our customers, other creative business owners or people I vaguely know from Instagram! I'm so excited for you to see what an amazing job these ladies did in the final photos.
How many people does it take to photograph a book? A lot!!! We took this pic at the end of the first day - you can probably tell how much fun we had. It's such a privilege to work with such an amazing team of talented women - from the editors and designers at Quadrille Books, to the photography team, stylist, hair and make up artist, our pattern cutter and the models who have their own awesome projects and businesses going on.

Bring on Spring 2018!
